Performance Improvement Made Simple
In order to meet the CMS Quality Standards, a DMEPOS facility must have a Performance Management Plan to measure the functioning of important processes and services and identify changes that will enhance performance. These changes are incorporated into new or existing work processes, products or services and performance is monitored to ensure the improvements are sustained.
PI focuses on outcomes on monitors set by you. Your leadership will chose monitors that sets priorities within your scope of care collaboratively to plan and implement improvement within your organization and that will help satisfy accreditation requirements.
Many organizations already have a Performance Management Plan but need assistance in the next step-the implementation, understanding and interpretation of the plan to help them meet the standards. Having a Policy and Procedure is NOT sufficient. If you do not have a Performance Improvement Plan we can set one up for you and provide the necessary policies and procedure.
Once you have a Plan, the tasks involved are relatively simple. We have a system of receiving this information from you and producing an easy to understand set of PI statistics quarterly with graphs to show trends within your facility. All you need to do is insert these statistics into a binder we provide you with under the proper quarter and compare the results to the previous quarter(s) results. Your improvement plan has now begun, with the findings in front of you, you can begin to look at patterns and trends and set up action plans specific to your monitors. Our program includes a review of your current PI policies and procedures, your current PI plan, consultation about monitors to ensure data is gathered to measure beneficiary satisfaction, complaints, billing and coding errors, and other data required by CMS.
We will assist in development of your Annual Plan and will provide you with a set of data collection tools and templates customized to your monitors. We will send reminders for quarterly PI meetings and data collection and the submission of that data and will provide you with a report summarizing each quarter’s data. The 4th Quarter will include a template for you to use for your annual program evaluation which you will use to set your goals and plan for the next year. Your data is not shared with anyone else.
Just email us to set you up on the PI program, or you can call us at 530 229-0337. Once you have signed up for our program we will send you the detailed instructions on what data to collect and how to notify us and to send it to us to complete your program. It is truly simple, affordable and we do all the work. Call us today and we can get started on your PI program.
