This is a new law the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) began enforcement of November 1st 2009; this has been delayed until June 1, 2010 At the completion of this program, the participant will: Define medical identity theft. Define "creditor" and "covered entity". List four components of a Red Flags Rule policy. Be able to list examples of suspicious documents, suspicious personally identifying information, and suspicious activities that may be red flags of identity theft. List at least 6 elements of an Identity Theft Prevention Program. List 3 actions to take after developing a Red Flags Compliance Policy and Procedure related to HIPAA requirements.
